Cola de Mono (Chilean Monkey's Tail)
Cola de Mono (Monkey’s Tail) is a festive Chilean drink that blends milk, coffee, cinnamon, and pisco, a must-have for Christmas and New Year’s celebrations.
Ingredients
- 2 cups of milk
- 1 cinnamon stick
- 3 tablespoons of liquid espresso or very strong coffee
- 1 ounce of pisco
- 1/4 teaspoon of nutmeg
- 1/4 cup of sugar
Preparation
- Boil the milk with the cinnamon, sugar, and coffee.
- Once the sugar dissolves, remove the cinnamon stick and take the mixture off the heat to cool it (without refrigerating).
- When the liquid is lukewarm, add the pisco and the nutmeg.
- Once it is cold, cover the mixture and place it in the refrigerator.
- Serve it chilled, but without ice. Serves 8 people.
